Randy Savage had earned many honors in his
illustrious wrestling career: Multiple world titles, fan support, national
endorsements, and a reputation for being one of the most unpredictable
and dangerous athletes in the ring. But the Macho Man had always felt there
was something missing. A brotherhood he could trust to look after his long-term
interests, and a place he could call home. After losing the WCW world title
at the 1996 Halloween Havoc Pay-Per-View, Savage took time off to ponder
the state of his career. Making his memorable return to the ring at Superbrawl
VII, Savage shocked the world by joining his soul brother, Hollywood Hogan,
and the NWO. Coming to the aid of Hogan, Savage helped the NWO Champ demolish
Roddy Piper in the main event.
