The man born Rick Wood, but known to the wrestling world as Rick Rude died of an apparent heart attack in his home last night. A former champion in the NWA, WCW, and Intercontinental Champion in the WWF, Rude retired from active competition in May of 1994 due to neck and back injuries. Rude was last seen in WCW managing longtime friend, Curt Hennig, and had just returned as a broadcaster for the company following a cancer scare late last year. Our condolences go out to Rude's family and friends. He was 39.
